Joint Art Exhibition Success

As part of the 30th Anniversary of Creative Primary School and Creative Primary School's Kindergarten as well as the 10th Anniversary of Creative Secondary School, the Joint Art Exhibition was held last week, displaying artwork of students from all three schools. Guests and visitors including parents, teachers, students and the public had the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of our schools' unique art education philosophy and art curriculum.

The Exhibition was held between 26-28 June 2015 at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre (JCCAC). It was the first joint exhibition organized between the three schools and over 300 pieces of artwork were on display. The curating of exhibits according to theme enabled visitors to appreciate the multi-faceted and inter-connected nature of students' artwork and to see the progressive journey of Art by students aged 3-18. The exhibition enabled visitors to understand how arts education at our schools facilitated students' personal development as well as their sensitivity and empathy towards their immediate environment and wider global concerns.

A simple yet elegant Opening Ceremony was held on 26 June and we were fortunate to have Mr. Michael Shreve, the Associate Vice President of the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Hong Kong as our Guest of Honour.

Over a thousand guests visited our exhibition including friends and colleagues from other schools, artists from Taiwan, professors from South Korea, exchange tour group from Russia and the well-known magician and the host of a number of children TV programme, Mr. Harry Wong.

A big thank you to the coordination team, parents, teachers, students and alumni, for their great contribution and collaboration in making the exhibition a success.
