History students shine in the Asia region
Between 13/6 and 15/6, Alfred Chan (F2 Bo), Richard Cheung (F3 Ca) and Eric Lo (F2 Ju) took part in the Asian Championships of History Bee and Bowl- global competition for History lovers. The Asian Championships included schools from Japan to the United Arab Emirates.
Alfred, Richard and Eric managed to enter the quarterfinals by beating schools including Dulwich College Beijing, Malaysian Kolej Yayasan Saad and Korean Boin High School, therefore qualifying for the International History Olympiad in July next year.
Singaporean River Valley School and Creative Secondary School are the only state schools in Asia qualified for the International Olympiad. Schools representing Asia consist of International Christian School, Renaissance College and Singapore American School.
Richard managed to qualify for the International History Olympiad Individual Championship in January when he was ranked No.5 in the Hong Kong competition.
Other schools eligible for the International History Olympiad include Swiss Le Rosey, English Sevenoaks School and Marlborough College.
