We arrived home with bags full of souvenirs, cameras full of photos, stomachs full of pasta, pizza and gelato and memories to treasure of nine wonderful days of immersing ourselves in Italian culture... the arts, architecture, history, language and of course the food.

We walked (and walked and walked) exploring the cobbled streets, squares, galleries, basilicas and ruins in the footsteps of great artists, architects, inventors and writers like Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli and Shakespeare. In Verona we tasted our first Italian style pizza and gelato and wrote love notes on the wall of Juliet's house. In Venice we made traditional masks, saw glass making and rode vaporettas and gondolas. In Florence we visited Michelangelo's famous sculpture of David, shopped in the markets and climbed our way up the 414 steps to the top of The Bell Tower. In Rome we relived the times of the emperors and gladiators at The Forum and The Coliseum and threw coins in the Trevi Fountain ensuring we would one day return. VIVA ITALIA!
