Anniversary Celebrations - Creative Schools Continuum

Creative Primary School (CPS) and Creative Primary School’s Kindergarten (CPSKG) were founded in September 1985 on Oxford Road, Kowloon Tong, Hong Kong. In 1999, the Education Commission proposed reform plans for Hong Kong's education system, suggesting school sponsors to create school continuums of consistent educational philosophy and curriculum from kindergarten through to secondary school level.

In response, our school sponsor applied to the Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB) for a site to establish a secondary school in 2000, leading to constructing and opening of Creative Secondary School (CSS) in Tseung Kwan O in 2006. This development realized our vision of a continuous educational pathway for students from aged 3 to 18.

In 2025, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of CPS and CPSKG, and the 20th anniversary of CSS. These milestones offer a valuable opportunity to reflect on our educational journey and strategize for the future, ensuring we uphold timeless educational values while preparing students to meet personal, social, national and global expectations in our increasingly challenging world.

The core objective shared by our three schools is to deliver a progressive, well-rounded, personal-development-driven educational service that combines the strengths of Chinese and international educational ideals. We emphasize proficiency in English, Chinese and Putonghua, while fostering a global perspective and a deep appreciation for Chinese cultural heritage.

At our schools, academic attainment and personal growth is complemented by a vibrant school life filled with diverse opportunities. We offer students an engaging, inquiry-based, and globally relevant experience that fosters a passion for learning and develops lifelong learning habits.

Both CPS and CSS have been recognised as award-winning "Inviting Schools". Our caring, respectful and positive school culture nurtures students’ self-respect and respect for others. Our personal development programs focus on cultivating positive character traits such as self-confidence, resilience, perseverance and a strong sense of responsibility and service to the community. They are qualities vital for navigating today’s and tomorrow’s world.

During students’ peak cognitive and neurological development, we nurture their generic skills and positive attitudes, including critical thinking, creativity, curiosity, communication, collaboration, and self-reflection. Development of these learning skills and attitudes begins in Kindergarten and continues through secondary education.

Our continuum occupies a unique position in Hong Kong's educational landscape. As International Baccalaureate (IB) World Schools, we offer the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) alongside local curriculum content. In Form 5 and 6, students either continue with the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE) course initiated in Form 4, or follow the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP). Both programmes are designed to  promote students' ability for self-directed and inquiry-based learning, while fostering a strong sense of global awareness, multicultural understanding, social responsibility, and a commitment to making a positive impact on the world. This helps to build a solid foundation for our students as they graduate and progress to university and employment.

Looking ahead, our commitment to quality and excellence remains unwavering. We will continue to nurture future leaders, inspiring thinkers and innovators capable of driving transformative change and making positive contributions to an ever-evolving world.

As we celebrate our anniversary year, let us reflect on our shared journey, celebrate our achievements, and extend our best wishes for the continued growth and success of our students, teachers, and families. May this joyous occasion inspire us all to contribute to a brighter future for our school, our society, our country and the world we all share.
