On 24 January 2025, we hosted the Creative Chinese Festival, beautifully concluding last year while setting an exciting tone for the year ahead. This year's celebration was especially joyous, thanks to the participation of students and teachers from Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School.
The festival kicked off with a stunning performance by our Chinese Instrumental Ensemble, whose traditional melodies captivated the audience. The intricate sounds of the instruments transported everyone to the heart of Chinese culture, creating an immersive atmosphere for all present.
Apart from the instrumental ensemble, our band also delivered powerful renditions of the beloved songs “Mulan” and “財神到”, while our students and staff also performed “歡樂年年”and “Gong Xi Gong Xi”. With strong melodies and catchy lyrics, the audience couldn't help but sing along, embodying the joyful spirit of the Lunar New Year.
We were especially delighted to welcome students from Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School, who enriched the festival with a captivating performance of classic poetry recitals and beautiful singing. Their astonishing performance touched all attendees, exemplifying the spirit of cultural exchange and friendship.
In addition to the performances, the festival celebrates our students’ achievements, with an Awards Ceremony recognizing academic excellence. It was a proud moment as we celebrated the hard work and excellence of our students.
The highlight of the event was the spectacular Dragon Dance performances, where members from all six Houses and CSS staff came together in a mesmerizing display of dance, movement, and storytelling. Each House member and staff member had been rehearsing the dragon dance for a long time, infusing their passion and zeal into every movement.
As we reflect on the success of the Creative Chinese Festival, we are filled with gratitude for everyone who participated. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate our diverse cultures and the achievements of our students in the future. Here’s to a prosperous and joyful Year of the Snake!
