Flag Raising Ceremony Students’ Sharing 2024-12-5

Misha and Hailey, students from Form 5 Bauhinia and Form 4 Delonix respectively, introduced the Creative Broadcast Team (CBT) and shared with students their roles in the team. They were now recruiting new members and would like to encourage students to join their big family.

Hailey: Good morning everyone! We are the Creative Broadcast Team (CBT) members. I am Hailey, Head of Scriptwriters.

Misha: And I am Misha, the Graphic Designer of the Creative Broadcast Team. Most of you are probably wondering what CBT is. Well, it is actually a group of students that work together to cover the school’s latest information ,and activities. Through this team, we are fortunate to get to work using different kinds of equipment provided in the Steam Room like professional broadcast cameras, green screens and light stands. We also have a software called Blender, which is used for animations and this helps further sharpen our skills.

Hailey: We are honoured to share a bit of what we do within the broadcasting team.  Misha! Do you remember how many roles we have in the team?

Misha: There are a number of roles in the team to give students a chance to specialise in their unique interests. It ranges from students filming around the school campus during events and video editing to being reporters as well as behind the scenes managers.

As one of the graphic designers of CBT, my role revolves around video formatting, branding, and collaborating with videographers to ensure seamless integration of graphics into recorded clips. One of my favorite experiences with the team was designing the official and original CBT logo for our production. It represents the resilience and collaboration of students. It was enjoyable to brainstorm ideas that truly reflected the professionalism of our team. I felt this project significantly established the club as an internal source for school news and student highlights.

Hailey: For me, I mostly write scripts for the presenters to talk about the latest events and activities, and sometimes write interview questions for reporters to interview students as well. One of my favorite moments was during the filming sessions. I had to be there to supervise. I would be there to help and give advice to presenters when they were nervous. There will always be some fun bloopers midway, and that makes filming and scriptwriting much enjoyable and worthwhile. Like the recent Sports Day reminders, the presenters’ use of tone was so professional, we decided to present it like an advertisement for video games,  we just wanted to have fun in serious times like the actual filming.

Misha: True! When I recalled it again, it still made me laugh! We are now recruiting new members to join our wonderful and innovative team! So, if you are interested, please feel free to contact Mr Mark Lewis or our General Manager, Colman Chan from F5 Bauhinia. Our CCA meetings are held on Wednesdays after school; be sure to check your schedules.

Hailey: We hope to see some new faces soon! Thank you!
