In October 2024, the house committee cabinets went through an intense promotion period, during which our students gained valuable experience in communication, organization, and leadership. Let’s hear the insights of the newly elected student leaders!

Success can only be achieved when you put yourself in the position to receive it, which is why on election day, my team and I actively ran around campus to remind our supporters to vote. While some may have seen our efforts as overly enthusiastic, it paid off when we won by just three votes. As vice captain of sports, I strive to be an enthusiastic creator and contributor by choreographing for cheerleading and dragon dance. I will motivate my house to participate and showcase their talents. I am optimistic that we will win and support one another in becoming the best version of ourselves. This year, our goal is to win the House Cup for the third consecutive year. With a positive mindset, strong work ethic, and determination, I truly believe this is achievable.

During my promotion period, I dedicated significant time to preparing my campaign and booths. I designed posters, filmed a promotional video, engaged in conversations with fellow students to understand their needs and what they looked for in a house committee. However, it wasn’t without challenges. Some committee members had differing views on our approach, which led to constructive debates. We settled these disagreements by focusing on our shared goals and maintaining open communication, allowing us to become stronger as a team.

Throughout the promotion period, we faced a lot of challenges, such as working with new people, managing a bunch of extra tasks, and going out of our comfort zone to promote our cabinet. I truly feel that we've grown as students and as people because of it. I still remember how nervous I was when we were counting the votes. Our cabinets were neck and neck till the very end. Even though the promotion period and election was pretty stressful, I'd definitely recommend all younger form students to try running for a cabinet position. You get to meet and work with people from different forms and you'll gain so many new skills from the experience. Hopefully, with the help of everyone in our house, we'll make the most of this year and bring our house to new heights!
