Fruitful outcomes of our partnership with Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School
Principal Cheung, together with two CSS staff and five students visited Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School on 2th to 7th November 2018 to participate in their International Cultural Festival. Principal Cheung was invited to deliver a speech during its opening ceremony.
During their stay, they enjoyed the students’ cultural performances and visited a football and martial arts school. They also experienced the rich food culture and history of Hangzhou. The host families arranged a wide range of activities for CSS students as well.
Principal Cheung attended an educators’ forum to share ideas about “global education community” with 40 principals and teachers from different countries. Our teachers and students also joined a student forum to discuss global education issues.
Through this Hangzhou trip, our students enjoyed the friendly and relaxed lifestyle of their Hangzhou host families. They have learnt to appreciate a culture different to their own.
Students and educators from Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School visited CSS in May and June 2019.
From 29 April to 3 May 2019, we hosted 5 students and their teacher, who had a wonderful week. They toured our campus and participated in lessons. They were well looked after by our student host families, just as our students were looked after when they visited Hangzhou. During their visit, our host families took them to different restaurants, including local “cha chan ting”, to let them experience Hong Kong’s food culture.
Principal Cheung took the Hangzhou students and their CSS hosts to the Dr Sun Yat-sen Museum in Central.
Our partnership with Hangzhou Greentown Yuhua School is sponsorded by the Education Bureau’s Sister Schools Exchange Programme. For over a decade, students as well as teachers and principals from both schools have benefitted from visiting each other, and our partnership continues to flourish.
On 6 June 2019, Mr Chen Haike, Vice President of the Board of the Greentown Yuhua Education Group and two of his colleagues visited CSS. They enjoyed visiting lessons and students’ musical performances. School Supervisor Mr Victor Fong and Principal Cheung, and the two schools agreed to further strengthening our partnership.
